Well, now you learn something - Qatar indeed can have F ticket does not have free checked bag, unless specifically included, on the partner award. The whole thing of this thread is NOT necessarily serving the purpose to warn people, but more of ranting on how badly you were treated by Qatar (the outstation staff who even have less power to do anything) and on how ridiculous it is, that an F ticket does not have checked bag allowance because "all your previous F flights did not have this issue." You dont ever think you are literally asking those folks to risk being punished just to help you out for a mistake caused by AA and also by you who fail to check the conditions of your ticket! When that backfires, the first thing we do, is not to look at WHY this happens, different from my "years and gazillions of flights in premium cabins", but immediately having an prejudice on the staff who "refuses to help me". The other bad habit we have, is generalization. Sometimes I do feel we the Americans do have the mentality of entitlement, hardly think from the other side's angle and be more considerate when all circumstances are taken into consideration. Would you bend the rule if you know the consequence would be, you being sent out the door?! Put you in their positions, if you bend the rules, because of "common sense" to serve the customer, but the customer's ticket is issued without free checked bag - then if such "assistance" be discovered, the person may lose his job. People just keep thinking about "common sense" for their own convenience, without any thought / consideration, on how the staff of the ME3 could be punished harshly if they are found not following the strict rules. Service quality aside, QR is notoriously strict with baggage allowance (and indeed any and all types of rules) with severe consequences for staff who fail to apply rules correctly, so I don't think it's all that surprising that the check-in agents would not go out of their way to solve the issue. This! If you had purchased a ticket from QR and there was an issue with the ticket, then QR would have been in a position to assist - of course it is also very unlikely that it would have had any problems with issuing a ticket for travel on QR and so the problem would not have existed in the 1st place The only airline that was causing a problem was AA by not correctly issuing a ticketĮxcess baggage fees are notoriously expensive The agents simply took position that you had no luggage allowace and that if you wanted to check luggage in you needed to pay - alternatively was up to you to get AA to fix the issue that it created The agensts saved you wasting even time byt not pandering to demands for QR contacts since the contact you had was with AA ( whether they were also uninterested is another matter ). The staff were disinterested, as they should be. This is not anything that QR was in a position to fix since tx. Perhaps, I was too optimistic.Your whole post was about how bad QR and how wonderful AA wasįor the QR staff, you turned up to check in with a ticket with zero baggage allowance. I was hopeful that this discussion here would provide others with some advanced warning to help avoid situations like mine. Though it can definitely be said, IT IS AA's ISSUE that its antiquated IT system caused that. So unfortunately somehow the issue comes back for unknown reasons. *Online payment available beginning 24 hours (and up to 4 hours) before departure Bag and optional fees If your flight is operated by a partner airline, see the other airline’s website for carry-on and checked bag policies. Additional allowances and/or discounts may apply. Maximum weight: 70 pounds or 32 kilogramsīag fees apply at each Check-in location. Maximum dimensions: 62 inches or 158 centimeters calculated as (length + width + height) I pulled up the email from AA in March 2022 for travel on QR in October, 2022, the checked bags info were at the bottom like this: It first came up Many Years Ago, Several Years Before Covid. The more astonishing part is, this issue is NOT NEW. Such crazy numbers were reported in the past when this issue happened. Is this a cargo rate or something? It is not normal but this is what Qatar rules are, because it is on a Weight-Based system. Is it really considered normal to be charged $1500+ for checked bags? I don’t understand that.

Though the Special Forces killed nearly everyone in the town, freelance photojournalist Frank West, along with a handful of others, managed to escape and spread the story of the outbreaks in both Santa Cabeza and Willamette. The zombies arose when Carlito Keyes unleashed the Ampulex Compressa Giganteus species on the town in revenge for a similar outbreak in the Central American town of Santa Cabeza caused by the US government. Though the United States government tried to cover up the story as a simple riot, it was a very different situation indeed: Zombies. The queens in their larva stage produce a parahormone that stimulates the hosts' appetite, leading them to increased hunger and to even eat things they would not normally consider food, in order to provide nutrients to fuel the queens' growth cycle. The researchers found out the queens of the species killed anything it latched onto by consuming brain tissue, only to reanimate corpses through infection by attaching to the hosts, turning them into zombies. The species was subsequently scientifically named Ampulex Compressa Giganteus. They were able to accomplish their task, but their progress advanced expeditiously when they discovered a mysterious and previously undiscovered insect species in the local region beside the Pachacamac River. Lisa Savoie, one of our awesome Teaching Assistants here at Skillcrush, emphasizes why it’s important for students to build portfolios for practice, saying, “Creating a pretend portfolio piece can give you a tremendous boost to your confidence. You can absolutely invent imaginary projects just for your online portfolio: In fact, you don’t need to be a beginner to do this - experienced web designers and developers create personal projects all the time to keep up with skills, try new things, and provide fresh solutions to problems. One of the most frequent questions we get from students in our classes is “Are we really going to build a portfolio? What can we possibly put in it when we’ve never had any clients or been paid for work?”Īnd it’s a great question! If you want to start your own design or development business and pick up new clients, it’s a simple fact that you’re going to have to show them examples of your past work - but the good news is, your best work (so far) doesn’t have to mean paid work. You know, even with the best software around (whatever that may be), you will need a lot of time till you're really able to create those great pictures you have in mind  Starting with that hypothetical software could even take longer. Maybe not always as fast as with other apps, but you can learn to understand the principles, the poly flow and stuff like that. For a beginner it's very, very hard to start with 3d, and is sometimes quiet frustrating to have a 100 possibilities to reach a goal and see after some hours of work, that you picked the wrong one.Ĭheetah doesn't have so many tools (still enough to learn), and still you can model everything. All the tools are there (only not always in production quality). It's not just dirt cheap, it's in my opinion the best software to learn 3d. Otherwise everybody who pays for something like C4d or any other high end 3d software would be an idiot.īut Cheetah has it's strength, too. What the other packages deliver isn't just bells and whistles, it's plainly put more realism, better tools and so on. And in other cases you just have to compromise. Some materials you can render very, very realistic, others you can fake (like SSS on white plastics with emanating light something you fake sometimes in other packages, too, because of the insane render times of sss). There are no volumetrics, no SSS, some problems with lights (for example if you combine HDRI with area lights), not enough bounces, no caustics in falcon. So if you want to do that, no problem.īut the renderer has it's shortcomings. It really depends on what you want to do and what you do need.Ĭharless, as much as I know, does use Cheetah for 3d printing work. Instead he made the decision to establish his own CG division, and recruited most of the researchers and management from NYIT, including Alvy Ray Smith and Ed Catmull, to staff the new division. The answer is just a 'maybe'. Lucas was impressed but couldn’t come to contractual terms with Triple-I. Industrial Light & Magic finished Star Wars, Lucas contracted Triple-I for several CG effects tests, including animating X-wing fighters (Art Durinski and Gary Demos produced the tests) for The Empire Strikes Back. In July of 1975, with the Star Wars saga already written and design work begun the previous year, Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) was established to produce the visual effects for Star Wars. In 1986, National Film Board of Canada filmmaker Daniel Langlois, in partnership with software engineers Richard Mercille and Laurent Lauzon, began developing an integrated 3D modeling, animation, and rendering package with a graphical interface targeted at visual artists. It was superseded by Softimage XSI in 2000.
